Our story began nearly 90 years ago when Provident responded to the unique needs of volunteer firefighters and emergency medical responders by providing financial protection with our blanket Accident and Health insurance policy. Over the years, we continued to take a leadership role in pioneering many coverages specifically tailored for the benefit needs of members in emergency service organizations in the United States. We were the first company, for example, to introduce heart and illness-related coverage for emergency service organizations. Today, some of our benefit products for our nation’s heroes include Blanket Accident & Health insurance, 24-Hour Accidental Death & Dismemberment insurance, and Group Term Life insurance.
The success of our group benefits programs for volunteer firefighters, EMTs, paramedics and first responders allowed us to go even further and develop FirePlus: a customized proprietary Property, Casualty and Liability Insurance for fire departments and emergency service organizations. We created FirePlus in partnership with Allied Public Risk, a full-service MGA with experience in providing property & liability products to thousands of special districts (including fire districts) since 2008. This combination of best-in-class skill-sets, coupled with a service-focused approach, presents meaningful Property and Liability insurance solutions to our brokers and their clients.
